Step 4: If the mode of scan is ADF, then position the paper into the tray with the print side facing up and the top corner enters into the tray first from

Step 5: If you wish to scan a photo, do it from the scanner glass instead of using ADF as it may damage the photos.

Step 6: Tap Scan from the control panel of the printer and then tap the computer name in which you wish to save the scanned file.

Step 7: Choose any of the following options that suits the document or image that you are scanning. Save as PDF, Save as Editable text (OCR), Save as JPEG( for images), Email as PDF, Email as JPEG, Everyday Scan.

Step 8: Tap OK. Now, the printer scans the provided document or image and saves it in the specified destination or path of your computer.

Step 9: It is possible to change the default destination in Windows and Mac from My Documents folder.

Step 10: When you open the HP folder on your computer, the HP Printer Assistant opens automatically.

Step 11: Perform the scan function and while saving the Printer Assistant will prompt to choose the desired folder to save. You can also add your own folder to save the item.

Step 12: For Mac, click the Apple icon from the menu bar. Click System Preferences and then click Printers and Scanners, Print & Fax, or Print & Scan.

Step 13: Click on the printer name and then click Open Print Queue. Click Printer Setup or Settings, click Utility, and then click Open Printer Utility.

Step 14: Click Scan to Computer under Scan Settings. Modify the scan task by clicking Edit Scan Task after you choose the Scan Tasks button.

Step 15: On the Scan to line, align the desired target folder in the Preferences screen and then click Save to save the scanned item.

Step 16: To save the scanned document or image in your customized folder, you can click Other and choose a custom folder path.
